Civilian Air Displays
Photographs taken at air shows or other events that show civilian air displays. These photographs were primarily taken at the Bournemouth Air Festival. I unfortunately do not have many photographs of civilian air displays compared to their military counterpart.
With my aviation photography, I try to avoid what I call the "Wikipedia" look. Many aviation photographers try to capture every detail of the aircraft they are photographing, showing the nitty and gritty of the nuts and bolts. While I have phenomenal respect for that, I believe many of those photographs can end up looking similar to each other, and like they'd appear on a Wikipedia page for the aircraft. As such, I try to use slightly less 'zoom' in order to capture the surroundings and make a more pleasing image which tells a story of some sort, rather than just a close-up of an aircraft.
